Introducing Monreal London, a new high-end luxury collection that is upping the style stakes where on-court tenniswear is concerned. The brand brings together fashion and form in fresh and modern, trend-driven dresses and separates for players who care as much about style as they do about scoring.
Monreal is the brainchild of German-born designer Stefanï Grosse, who likes tennis. A lot. But she was never fond of the clothes that she played in. Convinced that she could create something that is as functional as it is flattering and sexy, she founded Monreal, a high-end luxury sportswear brand for women who want to look good when they’re on court.
The second Monreal London collection pre-spring/ spring 2014 brings a fashion edge to activewear and is a fusion of trend and tradition, designed with stylish women in mind. It reflects the colours of the Caribbean as designer Stefanï Grosse dreams of the turquoise waters and green palms trees of tropical islands.
Using highly functional high-technical performance fabrics from Italy, with plenty of stretch and no polyester, the “made in Portugal” collection is supportive and feminine, with inbuilt sports bras that have removable cups for a body beautiful silhouette.
Since its launch collection for summer 2013, Monreal London has been featured in the pages of both U.S. and British Vogue, as well as WWD, German Grazia and Madame Figaro.
With 16 years in the fashion industry in New York, London and Hamburg behind her, she knows a thing or two about what women want. Her time at Donna Karan imparted her with a thorough knowledge of drape and fit and, when she was at Calvin Klein in New York, she designed the Oscars and Golden Globes dresses worn by Hilary Swank, Julia Roberts and Gwyneth Paltrow.
